I purchased Linksys SPA3102 as a replacement for died Sipura-3000 and I have some problem so setup it correctly. My first thought was to build the following configuration: 1. Rogers cable modem -> SPA3102 -> WRT54G -> my computers no luck 2. Rogers cable modem -> WRT54G -> SPA3102 & my computers well, to do that I had to enable remote Web administration for SPA3102 and assign static IP for the WAN interface, but by some unknown (yet) reason if fails to register, so my thought that it does not like to be after my router. Does somebody have similar experience? Thx. |

| I have almost the exact same config and mine works beautifully. Cable Modem -> WRT54GS -> SPA-3102 & PCs Just make sure you have the cabling correctly. Cable Modem goes into WRT54G's Internet port. WRT54G Port 1 (or 2-4) goes into SPA-3102's Internet port (the ethernet port on the 3102 stays unplugged). Also, get the latest firmware for your WRT54G and SPA-3102. And in your 3102 web settings, under Lan Setup, set the 3102 to be a bridge, which disables the DHCP/Nat server on the device itself, thus freeing up resources which you aren't going to use (because you don't have any PCs hooked up to the 3102, they're all on the WRT54G). Disable the static IP on the 3102 too, until you have everything working, then you can go back and enable it (I keep mine on dynamic ip, just in case I need to take it somewhere else and hook it up to somebody else's network, the dynamic ip never seems to change though, no matter which router I connect it too, which is great). |
