Default PSTN to VOIP bad quality static calls

I was able to set up my Sipura 3000 to bridge calls via the PSTN to VOIP gateway but the quality of the calls is very bad, I get lots of static and low sound volume.
I adjusted the SPTN to SPA gain as well as the SPA to PSTN gain but this caused problems in the Sipura recognizing the dialled numbers and PIN number.
I also tried all three servers (East, West Coast and central). The system actually works perfectly (Picks UP, Pin authorization etc) but there is considerable static as soon as the PSTN line pics up and signals for me to punc in my PIN.
Can anyone suggest somenting to improve the call quality?
thanks Marcio

Default RE: PSTN to VOIP bad quality static calls

If you're getting static on the PSTN line, it's probably a result of mismatched impedence. The default impedence settings work well for the US, but not for other countries.

To make sure it's not just your PSTN line, please try to use your PSTN line through the SPA3000 with the power off. The FXS will simply passthru to the FXO port without power applied.

Default Probably impedence problem - When 3k is off call is perfect

When I turn off the 3k and make calls through the PSTN line IT PERFECT. How do I correct the impedence problem?
thanks
Marcio

Default Impedance - doesn't resolve problme

I tied ALL the impedance options and none of them gave me descent volume and all game me LOTS of static!! any other solution to the static problem in the gateway PSTN to VOIP calls.
Any way, which impedance is best???
thanks
Marcio

PSTN switches in Brazil should be set the same as for the US - 600 ohms.

By the way, have you ever tried doing a factory reset?
