Default "Proxy SIP " and "Outbound Proxy"

Hi,

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) There are 2 settings for proxy:

- Proxy SIP - Proxy Server for all outbound requests
- Outbound Proxy - SIP Outbound Proxy Server where all outbound requests are sent as the first hop.

I have SPA2000 and Asterisk in the same network behind firewall. Asterisk connects to another Asterisk server using only IAX protocol. Where should I enter ip address of my Asterisk server?

What is the difference between these two fields?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2) How do I dial phone numbers with extension? Now I have to press # after extension. Is it possible to dial without #?

Thank you
Sergey

1) Put your Asterisk's IP address or FQDN in the Proxy SIP field and don't use Outbound Proxy. Outbound Proxy is a service implemented by some SIP servers that forces all packets, including voice packets, to travel through that server in exchange for better supervision over charging and other facilities.

2) You need to read about how to craft a Dial Plan here in this forum. You will learn how to analyze your Asterisk's numbering plan so that you can tailor your SPA's Dial Plan to send the call forward as soon as it recognizes a distinct match for one of the patterns.

For example, if your extensions are all of the form 10xx you would include the Dial Plan element 10xxS0 in your Dial Plan. This would forward the call once receiving the fourth digit that matches the Dial Plan element.

I've read about "Dial Plan element 10xxS0" but standarts are different: some companies use X, some - XX. In this case I have to add each phone number that use extensions to dial plan.

You need to have an individual Dial Plan element for each uniquely identifiable digit string. That's what the phone companies do and that is what you need to do if you want to emulate that behaviour.
