Default Noise in the background

Hi ! I'm using the Sipura 2000 with VoicePulse service. The voice quality is great, but there's this background noise that's very annoying. Changing phones makes no difference, even with corded phones. The low level but bothersome buzz sounds like a cheap amplifier that has a slight echo, or maybe an AM radio that is not tuned to a station. Dialing into the Sipura like *130 or **** also hears the buzz.

Is that noise normal ? Do you think it's a bad unit or is it a problem with VoicePulse ? Thank you much.

If you hear the buzz when using the IVR (i.e. ****), then it's probably the Sipura or something related to the Sipura.

Would you characterize your Sipura 2000 box as cool, warm, or hot to the touch ? Mine is running pretty hot, especially the underside of it. Much hotter that the Motorola ATA that I currently have with Vonage.

The Sipura I have with Broadvox Direct and BroadVoice are fairly cool (though not "cold"). My own unlocked SPA-2000 runs fairly cool.
