Lightbulb Linksys retires the PAP2

Linksys has officially retired the PAP2.

This shouldn't be a big deal to most consumers as the PAP2 was more expensive than and not as functional as the PAP2T.

The retirement of the PAP2 may be an issue for service providers wanting uniform customer equipment.

I thought Linksys has discontinued this PAP2v1 since the beginning of 2006 when it introduced a PAP2v2 and a PAP2T(hree)-NA. Does this mean Linksys also stops its supports, i.e. firmware upgrades, etc., on this product?

The PAP2v2 is now discontinued. The only -NA model available is the PAP2T-NA.

I would assume discontinued means that they would stop work on new firmware upgrades, unless a problem is serious to their large ITSP install base.
