This SPA8000 unit looks promising.

Has anyone else used this device in real life yet?
If so, how did you find it?

Would it work as a a channel bank to connect to some SIP based PBX - like Asterisk, or perhaps even the SPA9000?

Does anyone have any hands on with this device? It looks like it's a great price for the market. Does it offer call hunting between the lines like the grandstream gxw's do?

I just received one, what a nice box. We are planning on deploying in the coming weeks if all goes well. Anyone know how or if you can disable the configuration from the phone? I will be installing these in correctional facilities for inmates to use, and I dont want them getting into the unit.
Thanks

I've just bought one of these for use with CNET ( www.ckts.info ). So far got two lines programmed with extensions off my Asterisk plus another which 'hotlines' to another Asterisk which has a voice recognition system on it for dialling out the calls. All seems fine.

But boy - is the fan noisey !

Anyone-else having the same problem? I've two tower PCs with fans running in the room - can't hear them buy I can hear the 8000 running from the next room! If this is normal, it is going to have to been hidden away somewhere else - shed at the bottom of the garden? !!

We have deployed several of them. Linksys doesn't do a great job describing the product. Esentially, it is pretty much the same as the 2102, bandwith management and router included. It also has an Amphenol connector for phone system or 66 block connection (uses the first 8 pairs) ...and yes, the fan is noisy!

Does anyone else hear a weird high-pitch tone in the background always?
