different accounts for incoming and outgoing calls w/1001
hello, i did a search for this and could not come up with the answer.
i would like to use fwd for all incoming calls and terracall for the outgoing calls on a sipura spa-1001. this is basicly exactly what i would like to do http://www.phoneboy.com/blog/archive..._and_outg.html . im sure if i was a little smarter i could figure it out from phoneboys post but im new to the voip world, and completely hooked .
thanks,
frank

The good news is that in the future it will be simple to accomplish what you wish. This is because Sipura promises to release a firmware update sometime in the future that will allow two VoIP services to reside on the same single channel SPA-1001. The bad news is that it doesn't work that way today.
There is one possibility for a workaround until that day comes. It will only work if Terracall will allow inbound URI calling to their network. If so, your Terracall URI would be something on the order of "12345@sip.terracall.com" and you could log in to FWD and forward all of your calls to "sip:12345@sip.terracall.com" Anybody calling your FWD number would see it ring on your Terracall-registered SPA-1001. A simple Dial Plan modification would also allow a way for you to place outbound FWD calls when you wished to (like to US toll free numbers, which are not reachable via Terracall).
So, your mission is to find out from Terracall if you can receive an inbound call "from another PC" as a SIP URI call, and if so what will that URI look like.
Good luck.

none of the address from terra calls web site seem to work.
i tried the following
realm.terracall.com
3drealm.terracall.com
xchange.terracall.com
3dxchange.terracall.com
xchangeata.terracall.com
i was able to find the ip address using ethereal.
so if i call user@216.187.77.67 the call will go through. i have just have a couple of questions. first how often/likely is this ip address going to change? second is there any downside to forwarding calls between sip accounts? like loss of quality or added latency?
thanks again for the help,
frank

I have a beta firmware for the SPA-1001 that supports the multiple provider thing. It basically functions like a SPA-2000 except both lines ring on the same FXS port. You can specify which line is "default" for outbound calls and specify which key you want to press to make calls out the "other" line. You can also do distinctive ring on each line too, so you can tell which number they called by the ring you receive.

That's great, Frank. It looks like you are all set to go with the workaround I described until Sipura releases the firmware with the two subscription feature.

just a little update pc.tt.xten.net only works with the softphone. xchangeata.terracall.com works when the account is on the spa. oh and the account info is the icallingcard info.

Then, it looks like you have a bit of experimentation ahead of you. You will have to log in to your FWD account (through the www.fwdnet.net portal) and figure out which of these targets works with FWD's call forwarding. Just remember that the initial sip: is required in the FWD Call Forwarding box.

The SPA-1001 firmware I've got is not public yet, but I expect it will be shortly.
