Default Dial string Dyslexic Needs Assistance

Hello folks... I need your help. I have been trying to craft a dial string for my 3000 but seem to have some kind of brain block about getting the string correct. Here's my setup:

Broadvoice as my only VOIP carrier and a POTS line.

Here's what I'm trying to do:
1) 411 & 911 out POTS line with immediate dialing
2) Allow 7-digit dialing to numbers of my home area code (703)
3) All 800, 866, 866 & 888 calls our POTS line
4) All other calls out VOIP line

I built a string that looks like this:

([49]11<:@gw0>S0|1866<:@gw0>|1877<:@gw0>|1888<:@gw0>|18 00<:@gw0>|xx.)

Should this work? Which tab should I be putting the dialstring in (in the 3000 setup)?

Thanks!

If (703) needs to be prepended to local 7-digit calls going out the PSTN line:

([49]11<:@gw0>S0|<:703>[2-9]xxxxxx<:@gw0>|1866[2-9]xxxxxx<:@gw0>|1877[2-9]xxxxxx<:@gw0>|1888[2-9]xxxxxx<:@gw0>|1800[2-9]xxxxxx<:@gw0>|1[2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxx)

If not:

([49]11<:@gw0>S0|[2-9]xxxxxx<:@gw0>|1866[2-9]xxxxxx<:@gw0>|1877[2-9]xxxxxx<:@gw0>|1888[2-9]xxxxxx<:@gw0>|1800[2-9]xxxxxx<:@gw0>|1[2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxx)

klimegli,

You don't mention whether you want 7-digit numbers to go via BV or PSTN. You also don't mention which BV account type you have.

Let us know these two bits and we can get you even closer to what you want.

I want 7 digit numbers to go by BV. I'm on the BV Unlimited World Plan.

Thanks.. Also, is the right place to put the dial plan in the "Line 1" tab?

Default RE: Thanks for the help!

Here is my recommended Dial Plan for you.

([49]11S0<:@gw0>|*xx|<#:*>xx|0011881!|001187!| 1800[2-9]xxxxxxS0<:@gw0>|1888[2-9]xxxxxxS0<:@gw0>|1877[2-9]xxxxxxS0<:@gw0>|1866[2-9]xxxxxxS0<:@gw0>| 1[2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxx|<:1703>[2-9]xxxxxxS0|011353xxxxx.| 0113[12349]xxxxx.|0114[1345679]xxxxx.|01156xxxxx.|0116[15]xxxxx.| 01186xxxxx.|011886xxxxx.|<0011:011>[2-9]xxxxx.)

This plan does several things for you. It sends 411 and 911 to the PSTN. It allows you to send star codes to BV. If a particular star code that you want to go to BV is getting swallowed by your SPA you can dial it as #nn instead, and it will go through. It blocks international calls to satellite services like Inmarsat, which can cost many dollars per minute. It sends US toll free numbers to the PSTN line. It sends all other NANP calls (Country Code 1) via BV. It adds 1703 in front of any 7-digit number and calls via BV. It allows you to call all of the countries that are included in your BV Unlimited World Plan by dialing 011 as the international access code. It requires you to dial 0011 instead of 011 for a chargeable international call, making sure that you don't accidentally place a chargeable call.

I think that covers all of the bases. Please let me know if I've overlooked something or if a feature is confusing.

Michael
