If you cannot do it on the spa 3000, you can try WoodTel, Inc's (see www.woodtel.com ) CM2000. You can call either port (Line 1 or Line 2), let it answer and prompt for the PIN but then do not enter any PIN. Call the other port, let it answer, enter the PIN when prompted and upon hearing the 3 tones, enter # to bridge the 2 ports. It's that simple, no special configuration.

Hi,

Let me propose an alternate solution which will involve creating a small pbx system between your two phones using a free Danish Asterisks Server rather than an ATA to ATA connection. You’ll need a free account with easypabx.com, sipgate.co.uk, and Free World Dial. You might wish to optionally purchase an Irish DID from Voxbone.com or didww.com or some other company offering Irish DIDs or Sip Forwarding to make it easier to access the Irish end of the equation. Lastly, I would suggest tossing in a ten Euro prepaid VOIP account from voipcheap.com.

Setup an account with easypabx.com. Then setup your Sipgate number and your Free World Dial number as trunks. Setup an IVR to greet both of you and permit you to be sent to a conference room where you will be linked.

Sipgate.co.uk will give you a free incoming UK number. A free world dial number can be reached for free via the Sipbroker.com Dublin dialin. Optionally, you can forward an Irish DID to the number using the Voxbone or DIDWW Irish number.

VOIPCheap.com has calls to UK mobiles at 4.8p a minute; they have calls to Irish mobiles at 6.4p a minute. You can now create an extension in Ireland to ring your UK mobile economically, and one in the UK to ring an Irish mobile economically. They also have free call to Irish and UK landlines. You can setup your number extensions to ring each others landlines free and work numbers.

If you already own those Sipuras, you can put them in the loop with Sipura to Sipura calling. You can also give yourselves virtual second lines at your respective homes. Remember that the menus you record in Ireland and the UK can be different and personalized. Unannounced extension numbers will still work.

My family has got a similar setup running with direct dialins in the US, UK, and two other countries I would prefer not to list. We are also using the Sipbroker method on occasion in France and the Netherlands.
