Default Cannot get PSTN -> VoIP routing to work

Linksys SPA942 Linksys SPA942
Stylish and sturdy 2- or 4-line business IP phone with 2 RJ-45s and Power Over Ethernet.
Price: $149.95
Hello all,

I am trying to set up my sipura 3000 as a VoIP gateway, so that I can call my PSTN home line from my cell and then dial internationally through my VoIP service provider. I still want my answering machine - connected to Line 1 on the sipura - to pick up incoming calls when no one is at home. My plan was to set up the sipura such that when the PSTN incoming CID number is my cell phone, it will bridge me to the VoIP and allow me to make a call. When I just want to call home and check my messages on the answering machine, I will first dial *67 to block CID and that way, the sipura will not pick up. My cellphone CID shows up on the PSTN line as (323)567-2345.

I tried to configure the parameters below on the PSTN Line tab, but could not get it to work.

PSTN-To-VoIP Gateway Setup
PSTN Caller ID Pattern (323)567-2345
PSTN Access List (323)567-2345

FXO Timer Values (sec)
PSTN Answer Delay 4

the rest of the parameters are at their default settings

Thanks for your help
Alon

Try putting the number in there without the parenthesis and dash. Just the 10-digit number of your cell phone.

thanks phoneboy for the advise, however tired putting just the 10-digit number and sipura still don't pick the call for bridging. could it be something other than matching the CID number that is causing bridging not work? Just to rule out CID number matching as the problem, how can i set my sipura such that every call into the PSTN is picked up by sipura and bridged to VoIP?

Alon:

To do what wanted try this:

In PSTN Line tab, PSTN-To-VoIP Gateway Setup settings set PSTN-To-VoIP Gateway Enable = YES, PSTN Caller Auth Method = PIN, PSTN Caller 1 PIN = <choose a pin>, PSTN Caller 1 DP = <choose a dial plan number>. Then in Dial Plan <choosen number> type your dial plan. Leave (xx.|*xx.) just to start.

In PSTN Line tab, FXO Timer Values (sec) section set PSTN Answer Delay = 0 (just to test. SPA3000 will answer immediately).

To test call your PSTN number (POTS number). SPA3000 will give you a three beeps tone (beep, beep, beep --- pause -- beep, beep, beep). At that point dial your choosen PIN followed by # key. YOu will get a second dial tone and you will be able to call the destination number using PSTN Line's SIP account.

Please try and let us know if this worked for you.
