I would presume you need to escape those characters as you would in any XML application (of which HTML is a subset). In HTML, anyway, you have to use > for the greather-than symbol and < for the less-than symbol. That's what I'd try, anyway. If that doesn't work, you may need to comb the Linksys docs. There's got to be an answer to that in there. --Donnie |

| Thanks for the quick reply. What you said makes sense. I did find some xml doc and here are the characters that needs special handling, for others' reference. <<less than>>greater than&&ersand ''apostrophe""quotation mark After I got over the dialplan, I ran into another trouble with several other fields under PSTN tab (who knows how many others I will have problem). This is what in my xml file, the part with trouble. After syslog indicated successful resync, none of this fieds are changed. I am sure there will be more. So far, I am trying to figure out a pattern and a way to tackle this type of problems, you know, with no clues. <VoIP-To-PSTN_Gateway_Enable>1</VoIP-To-PSTN_Gateway_Enable> <Line_1_VoIP_Caller_DP>3</Line_1_VoIP_Caller_DP> <PSTN-To-VoIP_Gateway_Enable>1</PSTN-To-VoIP_Gateway_Enable> <PSTN_Caller_Default_DP>5</PSTN_Caller_Default_DP> <VoIP_PIN_Max_Retry>2</VoIP_PIN_Max_Retry> <VoIP_Caller_Auth_Method>PIN</VoIP_Caller_Auth_Method> |

| After trying many "random" things, I finally hit the jackpot, well, kind of. What I found out is that after I tried every tag with _2_, it works under PSTN tab. For example <VoIP-To-PSTN_Gateway_Enable_2_>1</VoIP-To-PSTN_Gateway_Enable_2_> <Line_1_VoIP_Caller_DP_2_>7</Line_1_VoIP_Caller_DP_2_> <VoIP_PIN_Max_Retry_2_>2</VoIP_PIN_Max_Retry_2_> <VoIP_Caller_Auth_Method_2_>PIN</VoIP_Caller_Auth_Method_2_> <PSTN-To-VoIP_Gateway_Enable_2_>1</PSTN-To-VoIP_Gateway_Enable_2_> <PSTN_Caller_Default_DP_2_>5</PSTN_Caller_Default_DP_2_> I tried this from the previous posts on Dial_Plan_1_2_ etc. However, I am still very puzzled. This is different from the dial plan stuff because I searched the page source, there is no possible overlap on VoIP-To-PSTN_Gateway_Enable tag. Where's the _2_ come from? How many other fields I will have to guess, try and error? This boiled down to the original question of this thread? Where can we get a xml for this device? In my case, it is sipura 3000, ie, Linksys 3012. Really appeciate any thoughts on this. |

| Yeah, we *really* need Linksys to add the XML dump feature to ALL their firmware, not just some devices. I'm quite sick of rooting around for the proper tags, too. My guess is that while your device doesn't have multiple field possibility for that tag, your device shares firmware base code with a device that does. At least you found it. --Donnie |

Well, the Linksys regional manager on his last visit to us confirmed that Linksys is committed to opening all their routers, switches and VoIP devices to open source, so it seems that the thinking is correct at least, albeit a time consuming process. Can anyone confirm that this was not just a marketing "stunt"? ie. Have other area managers or senior representatives of Linksys/Cisco confirmed this? |

| Well, Linksys don't seem to keen to process my registration. It's been weeks (actually months) since they promised to get me onboard so I have access to the software, but still nothing. Not even a human response, just a bot replying that they will get back to me within a number of days (which have passed x number of times) Anybody care to let me have a copy for the SPA2102 software v 5.1.10? |
