Default Add Ip dialing to dial plan

What would I have to add to my dial plan to allow Ip dialing?

(xx.<:@gw0>|<#8,:>xx.|<#8,:>*xx|<#8,:>**xx.|<#5,:> xx.<:@gw1>|)

My plan:

Defaults all calls to go out PSTN
Dial #8 for Line 1 VOiP (Sipphone)
Dial #5 for gw1 VOiP (FWD)

Steve

Default RE: Add Ip dialing to dial plan

Just under the Dial Plan box is the check box to enable IP dialing. Check it and you are done.

When you want to make an IP call you need to make sure that the target is all numeric. If you want to call 1234@24.1.2.3:5063, for example, you would pick up the phone and dial 1234*24*1*2*3*5063#.

Under my current Dial plan would I pick up the phone and dial direct, or
do #8 to push it out line 1?

IP dialing does not go via either (any) of your registered service providers. IP dialing invokes the SIP originator function that is built into your SPA. It does use the SIP parameters configured for Line 1, but does not use Line 1's SIP credentials. Therefore, no prefix is needed.

In fact, you don't need any active registration to place or receive SIP calls. If you have an all numeric name in the UserID field on Line 1 and I learn your public IP address and you have manually forwarded a SIP Listen port through your router and I learn that port number, I can place an IP call to you.
