| I've been struggling for ages to get the SPA-3102 gateway function to work the way that I want it to. I have Voxalot registered on Line 1 and among others Voipdiscount registered on gw4. Apart from my SPA-3102 I have a PAP2. One of the lines on the PAP2 has Sipgate registered, and the PAP2's line out (FXS) is fed to the SPA-3102 as its PSTN line. I have the PSTN-To-VoIP Gateway enabled and incoming calls to my Sipgate number ring the phone on my SPA-3102. What I want to do is to be able to ring my Sipgate number, get a Voipdiscount dialtone and dial toll-free onwards from there. To enable this I have entered my Voipdiscount details under the PSTN tab but not registered it. Is this a correct assumption or will the gateway always try to use the default Line 1 provider (Voxalot in this case) for the outgoing call? I can get dialtone OK but my subsequent dialled digits seem to have no effect, so I don't know where they're going. Can anybody help? ataboy |

| Sounds like you are on the right track for your objective. You could say to register VoipDiscount because the "gateway" on Line 1 doesn't actually register, it just sends the authid and password at the time of the call. My experience is that the Betamax companies will work without registration. In order to send a call without the PSTN tab being registered you must say Make call without Reg YES. The next thing that comes into play is the dial plan. The dial plan you are using the is the number in the field that is for the pin number that you are using. If you want to use @gw4 then the dial plan needs to reflect that. If you want to send it on the PSTN tab registration then it either must be registered or you must have the field Make Call Without Reg YES. The other parameters for the call will come from whatever you have listed on the PSTN tab, i.e. codec, dtmf transmit method, etc. SipGate must transmit the dtmf properly and the PAP2 must pass it thru the 3102's analog FXO interface. This has always been my problem when I tested the technique, but I wan't using SipGate. If it doesn't work right off for you, you need to run the Sipura Debug Trace on the 3102's PSTN line to see what the adapter is seeing and if it sends the Invite to VoipDiscount. Download the program from SPA adaptors Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Be sure to set the Debug level to 3 and to set the Debug Options to FULL on the PSTN Line tab. Of course, if you are using the Gateway entry you should check that you have the correct gateway parameters entered by testing it with the Line 1 handset. | Thanks hwittenb for confirming that I was on the right track. Starting from that point gave me the confidence not to look elsewhere. So I deleted all my gateway settings and provider details under the PSTN tab and started again. This time everything worked fine. Maybe I had a typo somewhere; I don't know. I took the opportunity as well to play with dial plans and created some very useful ones with alternative providers - thanks for that too! ataboy Last edited by ataboy : August 15th, 2007 at 11:08 AM. |

| Just to follow up on my last post, I'd like to set a PIN that gives me Voxalot dialtone. I'm a little unsure on the syntax for the dialplan associated with the PIN though. I was thinking of something along the lines of: ([x#*].<:@voxalot.com:5060;usr=xxxxx;pw*d="yyyyy">) but it doesn't seem to work. Have I missed something crucial? ataboy |

| I have found that it is difficult to setup a gateway in a dial plan, particularly in a dial plan on the pstn line tab. The other day I was amazed when I got one working on the Line 1 tab. If you have open gateway settings on the Line 1 tab, I would setup Voxalot there also. I realize you also have Voxalot setup to register in Line 1. When you put credentials in a gateway it doesn't register, it just sends the userid and password at the time of the call. With Voxalot also setup in a gateway setting on Line 1, I would try to access it in the conventional way, i.e. ([x#*].<:@gw2>) assuming I have it right for the dialed number with the asterisks, etc. |

| Once again you've saved me hours of work. I appreciate your dissuading me from trying to use the dialplan for a gateway. I had actually thought of using a gw under Line 1 but I thought that the dp solution might be elegant. Anyway your solution works very well. Thanks for that. ataboy |

| Hi.. I have a problem with Dial Plan: This is what i have : (*xx|[3469]11|0|00|[2-9]xxxxxx|1xxx[2-9]xxxxxxS0|xxxxxxxxxxxx.) I am using 3102 fro about a year and worked well without a problem. suddenly It gave me a problem when I dial the numbers start with 1. To dial US tel# , i have to start with 1. To dial any other countries, I just start with the country code. Suppose I dial a number in austral I dial.. 61 397..... so on. Now the problem is,, All the countries work except the countries ( US & Canada) starting with country code 1. I am using voipcheap.com as my service provider. when I went to the voipcheap.com my accounts ( billing) page, i see the gateway is dialing 1 876 123 123 1234 when i dial 1 123 123 1234 . Means It add 876 after 1. I am using the system in Jamaica and 876 is the country code for Jamaica also. looks like the gateway is adding that number, but my dial plan does not have such a number. Need help. Thank you and take care damith |
