| I'm just starting out playing with VOIP and the 3000 and have found the forum to be great resource! We are playing with setting up VOIP in our office (only about 10 users). In the near future we will be trialing a new soft PBX but in the meantime I'm playing with a 3000 as the PSTN gateway and using OnDo as the SIP Server. We are not currently using any external VOIP provider (although we will move in that direction) - our setup is all internal so it does not really fit the normal profile of most users on the forum. Currently I have multiple registered users internally with IDs 200 - 2xx. The 3000 PSTN user is 9. users dial 9 for an outside line and then can call out on the PSTN. Line 1 user can answer the PSTN or call any user. This is a very simplistic setup but is fine for the time being. With multiple users (and different combination of phones) you need to centralize dialing plans into the SIP server or PBX which I will be doing as we expand the system. Has anyone tried using multiple 3000s to act as cascading PSTN gateways to two or more PSTN lines? I suspect you could use a series of 'CallForward if busy" to route the user to the first available PSTN line but, before I buy a couple more 3000s I thought Iwould see if anyone else has done this. Currently we only have two PSTN lines (voice and fax). Once we add one or more VOIP providers I was thinking of trying to use the fax line as also the PSTN to VOIP gateway for staff. Does the fax pickup function work with the gateway function? Anybody have any experience or advice on using one or more 3000s to essentially build a small office soft PBX? Thanks for any help/suggestions. |
