Default 2100 support of two concurrent calls with G.729. 3000 ?

Reading the info on the Voxilla Store it says that the 2100 will have support for two concurrent calls using the G.729 codec with a software upgrade in Q1 2005. Is this feature still on schedule ? I am waiting for that to be available to continue with my proyect since I will need 4 units to give me 8 calls with G.729 codec.

Are there any plans to have this same capability added to the 3000 ? I need at least 18 of those units and if i can have two calls with the G729 codec in one box it would make for an unbeatable solution to present to my boss for budget approval.

As of Firmware 2.0.4 the SPA-2100 can support two simultaneous G.729 calls. This firmware was released a while ago, and in fact has been replaced by 2.0.5.

As for the SPA3000 I think that it will never be able to support more than one G.729 call. If it doesn't support it now then I doubt that support is going to be added in the future. Maybe someone who is more of an expert can clarify this better than me.

Hope this helps,

Phil.

Thank you. Maybe the Voxilla store guys can then update the product info for the SPA-2100 to reflect this.

As for the SPA3000 I certainly wouldn't mind if they came out with a SPA-3100 as long as it had the two G.729 calls available. The way the SPA-3000 is right now it gives me 100% solution to my present needs but i am sure that as soon as I install it, they will want to have the other port in use at the same time.

The announcement of the new Sipura products made me wait and now i have good reason to have done so. The SPA-2100 is much better solution for me than the 2000...hope sometime like that occurs to the 3000
