Default sending SMS from e-mail notification data

Trying to figure out a way to get a SMS message to my mobile device letting me know when I have a voicemail. I thought that somehow sending a SMS containing select data from the IpKall e-mail would be good but I haven't found a way to make that work. I, not being a code monkey, don't know how to create some sort of script to do this on my own. I would appreciate any knowledge that is available. THanks so much.
Nathan

Depends where you are... in the States and Europe, somr providers assign an email address to a phone number as well (e.g 2125551234@verizonwireless.com). Emails sent to the number appear as an SMS. Hotmail (and I beleive Yahoo as well), provide a service where new emails can be notified to a cell phone, either thru SMS (which could cost) or to a mobile email address. You could use this combination.
