Hi, I use asterisk and thus my ipkall number points directly to my server. I seem to have a problem with touch tones coming through though. My asterisk picks up the phone and based on the user's input connects to my cellphone, work extension, or home landline. It seems like the touchtones are coming through twice so when the user punches 1 it receives 11. Here's my asterisk sip.conf configuration for the ipkall calls: Code: [ipkall] type=peer dtmfmode=rfc2833 context=default insecure=very host=voiper.ipkall.com nat=yes ciao, Cybertoy

Hi Cybertoy, I do have exactly the same problem, digits sometimes come 2 or 3x (ie dialing 456 could translates in Asterisk decoding 445666). As far as I can tell, this problem is specific to IPKall, ie DTMF works perfect with my 2 others VoIP providers. I'm using the Asterisk 1.0.11.1 (most recent 1.0x); tried switching codecs, playing with jitterbuffer etc, didn't find a workaround (besides using another carrier). I suspect that IPKall explicitely turned off RFC2833 and SIP INFO and (for a reason that eludes me) transmits DTMF tones in-band only, making them very vulnerable to jitter etc. Anyone having more info/suggestions/solutions? Better yet, anyone from IPKall?.. Thanks all

Hi mberlant, All test calls were originating from California; tried 2 landlines and my cellphone with identical results. No calling card, VoIP to reach IPKall etc. It seems like IPKall uses Asterisk. Could it be that their SIP 'dtmfmode' setting is 'inband'? If yes, maybe a little bit of "choppiness" could cause my own PBX at the other end to sometimes detect multiple tones..? Thanks for your interest, have a great week-end!
