Is there anyway to find out if there 425 area code numbers are local in Redmond area. I would get one if they are, but don't want to waste a number if they are not.

You can always look up the number they give you via telcodata.us. That's what I always do anyway.

Default are the areacodes added local calls?

I was wondering if the areacodes listed are local calls from within the same areacode? For example, could someone living in the tacoma area dial an ipkall 253 prefix number as a local call?

I live in Tacoma, so I was curious.

Short of signing up and cancelling over and over (which seems unfair to IPKall and potentially against their TOS), is there a way I can get an International Telecom (IPKall) phone number for a specific rate center in the 360 Area Code? I can see from telcodata.us that International Telecom Ltd. offers numbers in the 360-526 and 360-812 npa-nxx for the Whatcom County rate center but so far on two tries I have gotten two different 360 rate centers further to the south that I just end up cancelling because it needs to be the Whatcom ratecenter.

How do you recommend I proceed, IPKall and PhoneBoy? Keep trying to get one on my own by signing up and cancelling unsuitable 360 numbers or is there a way to get 'customer service' for this one aspect from a company that promises no customer support?

Maybe I am missing the boat but... Why does that part of the number matter to you?

Well this is how it works in area codes in Quebec and Alberta, and I am assuming WA till I hear otherwise, the rate center is the defining unit for determining whether residential telephone users are charged as a local call (free) to make the phone call, or whether they have to pay in-state long distance rates. So all of northern Alberta uses the 780 area code, but if you have an Edmonton rate center phone number, only calls to people in the 780 area code who are in the Edmonton rate center as well are free local calls. Everyone outside of the city, even though they use the 780 area code as well, are long-distance calls. The same holds true the last place I lived, Montreal. The immediately surrounding suburbs of Montreal use the 450 area code and are free local calls from the big city. But the 450 area code serves a very geographically widespread area and many 450 numbers are actually long-distance from Montreal, since only a few 450 numbers are in the Montreal rate center.

The area covered by 360 is also the same, and covers a widespread area in Washington north and west of Seattle. I am not using IPKall to get an American number, but only to get a local Whatcom county number. I don't have much use for a 360 number that is long distance to most of my friends.

Ahh, ok. That makes sense. My area doesn't have that issue but a nearby one does (more rural). Good luck getting your rate center!
