| I'm in the UK and have a SipGate number which works perfectly for incoming calls within the UK and is configured to be used with a Grandstream 2000 IP phone. However I have relatives in Seattle and see IP Kall can give a Washington State number for them to dial which I'm assuming should be able to be forwarded to my sipgate number I set it up yesterday but every time I dial the washington number it's coming up like an busy tone and the phone never rings. Any ideas? I've tried getting FWD to work with the Grandstream phone, and several other free services but can only manage to get Sipgate to work fine. It does help that sipgate provides a very good help section that shows you exatly what to enter in each field, any suggestions to get this working? The phone can have upto 4 SIP accounts so go room to spare. The settings I have in IPKall are simply my sipgate number and server as below 66***** sipgate.co.uk |

Well, it would certainly explain the engaged tone Does anyone know of a service that will work and that has clear instructions on how to configure a Grandstream 2000 phone? I've tried FWD and some other but so far only sipgate (who I got the phone from) works. |

The odd thing is that I had an IPKall number last year which worked fine with my SipGate, until I allowed that IPKall number to expire. So, if deeknow's observation is correct that the problem is that sipgate does not allow direct incoming URI calls, then it's a relatively recent development. By the way, I find IPKall still works well with my other SIP service, SipPhone. I use a Grandstream 486 ATA, but I doubt this is a hardware issue. Perhaps there is a temporary problem with the connecting of IPKall & SipGate? Probably we should ask SipGate's tech support (which is usually excellent) whether there is any newly developed incompatibility between SipGate & IPKall. |

| does anyone have screens shots of the configuration screens for the grandstream with a SIP service that will work with IPKALL? grandstream's own website is no help. only sipgate seem to have gone to the trouble to provide a really god help page. |
