1) Setup your IPKALL number to ring your VoIP adapter. This is important, because you need to be able to "verify" your number, to get it in ENUM. 2) Go to http://www.e164.org/ and create a free account. 3) Follow the instruction on the e164.org web site to register your phone number (in this case your IPKALL number), with your free e164.org account. In particular, make SURE your VoIP adapter is turned on, and you are ready to receive a call at your IPKALL number (as your number will be called as part of the process that e164.org uses to verify your number). Voila, your IPKALL number is now in the e164.org ENUM tree. Anyone who queries the e164.org ENUM tree, can now reach your IPAKALL number via ENUM (i.e. a free VoIP call). NOTE: Don't forget that IPKALL makes money on PSTN (not ENUM) inbound calls! As such they require you to have at least one PSTN inbound call per month, to keep your phone number. So if you are going to put your IPKALL number into ENUM, make sure that you get at least the occasional PSTN call to your IPKALL number as well! |
