Hi from Germany! I am using IPKall successfully for several months. The Washington State number 360-207-0291 connected to my account 1137855@sipgate.de perfectly - until a few days ago. Without any changes in my setup, callers do now receive the message that I am currently busy. But this is not true. I do receive calls to my sipgate.de account from other providers and it works ok. Is there an explanation for this? Thank you, Wolfgang

We contacted SipGate, and told them a problem had cropped up. They didn't seem to be very interested. Possibly if their clients contacted them, they would be more motivated to look into it. Here is what is happening; Called 1137855@sipgate.de Failed to authenticate on INVITE to '"206286XXXX" <sip:206286XXXX@66.54.140.46>;tag=as20b7d2be' SIP/sipgate.de-09a54178 is circuit-busy IPKall Everyone is busy/congested at this time (1:0/1/0) Last edited by eric : October 20th, 2006 at 06:35 AM.

Which means in short that they have switched off SIP-URI from remote networks for security reasons (SPIT), whatever that means. It is uncertain whether they will allow it again in the future. Too bad. Wolfgang

Hello. I also received word from sipgate.de that SIP-URI is no longer possible. I asked them if they could enable it for my account, but they refused. I was looking for another solution and I think I found one: calling the IP-address directly Here's what to do: - obtained a dns-entry through dyndns (http://www.dyndns.com) - set up NAT to register current IP address with dyndns - place ATA into the DMZ of the NAT - (you might want to block port 80 in your NAT) - log-in at ipkall.com and set your dyndns-URL as the SIP-proxy (you might want to add port 5060, eg. yourname.dyndns.com:5060) - wait an hour Note: If you have a fixed IP-address, you can simply put that IP-address as your SIP-proxy. It works great for me. I haven't seen a change in my IP-address yet, but as long as IPKall doesn't store the URL for an extented amount of time, I don't see why this shouldn't work.
