Default No ring tones update - I QUIT!

I have had it! I have spent endless hours resetting my SPA-1001, changing firmware, fiddling with settings (whether I knew what they did or not), and still I get no ring tones on random outgoing calls. Since I seem to be the only person in the world experiencing this, nobody has been able help me. I've searched forums here and elsewhere and it seems to be a unique problem.

Plus, I still have the issue of the SPA losing its connection if the router recycles power. That's just not going to cut it for me.

So, I give up. I'm going to call this whole adventure a $100 experiment in new technology that failed. I'm going to cancel my IConnectHere account and see if I can sell the SPA-1001 on eBay.

Thanks to those of you that offered suggestions. I'm sorry nothing worked for me.

If you bought it from Voxilla recently: "Any item purchased (except special order items, wiring and downloaded software products) can be returned for a refund within 30 days of the original shipment date" less 20% rexstocking fee.

Sorry you had such a problem with it.

hmm, what thread was this? I just got my spa-1001 last week and didn't have any problems getting it going to work with iconnecthere on line1 and freeworlddialup on line 2

I might be able to help since it seems like we should be in the same boat....

Don't get me wrong. I was able to get everything configured and running in a couple of hours. But as the saying goes, "the devil's in the details". My two main problems are:

(1) If the router connected to my cable modem goes down (reboots, power loss, etc.), the SPA-1001 loses its connection and has to be power cycled in order for it to reconnect. Doing a 'reboot' from the web page or from the **** interface doesn't work.
(2) About 50% of the time, my outgoing calls have no ring tones. The call usually goes through, but the first 1/2 second of conversation on the other end gets clipped off, so since I don't hear the ringing stop (or start!), I sometimes can't tell when the person has answered the phone. It's extremely annoying to the point where I don't want to use the phone.

So, while the basics of VoIP work for me, the details make it too irritating to use.

But, thanks very much for your offer of help. I hope that you don't experience the troubles that I have had.
