Default Linksys BEFSR41 & PAP2T setup. Help!

I am a former SunRocker customer. I sw'd to ICH. Rec'd a PAP2T which required me to reinstall my old BEFSR41. ( Firmware Ver 1.46, the latest)
The PAP2T is supposed to be PNP. I can connect to the web. Part of the setup process is to dial **** and 110# and get a voice message as to the PAP2T IP address. I do not hear anything. (the handset vol is up high enough ) When I try to place a call , I have a dial tone, can hear the digits being dialed and the distant phone ring. I do not hear anything on the rec'vg end. When calling my voip#, the symptoms are identical. Dead air both ways.
The ICH tech tried everything he knew. After a couple of days of trying he told me to call my ISP ( Comcast ), they will tell me how to setup my router to handle VOIP. Comcast chuckled. I feel my router is good. Is there a way
to setup my BEFSR41 to work with the PAP2T. Also my broadband connectivity is very good, fast, no packet loss etc. Any ideas?

You might try another phone and see if you can hear your address from the Linksys IVR. If not, perhaps the Linksys is toast. Then you might contact ICH about a replacement.
