| Hi. I am fairly new to Voip. We have recently installed in our company a Trixbox server with several GXP 2000, BT 200, Xlite softphones and one GXP 2020. We are having some issues with the GXP 2020: 1. All internal calls have an annoying one repetition echo. The person not on the GXP 2020 will hear his voice repeated once a split second after saying them. You don't hear this repetition in the GXP 2020. The repetition echo disappear immediately after pressing the spearkerphone button on the GXP 2020. Thus, I suspect that the handset circuitry is feeding the received stream back into the line. I cannot find any settings that address this problem. No other phone in our system exhibits this problem. 2. External calls through a TDM400p card also present very frequently although not always, a reverb type effect, as if speaking inside a tunnel. This reverb gets worse as the volume setting on the phone is raised. Again, no other phone behaves like this. I opened a case with Grandstream support, but after a week, all they suggested was if I had upgraded to the latest official firmware 1.1.4.17. The phone came with 1.1.1.14 but I have already tried 1.1.4.14, 1.1.4.16, 1.1.4.17, and latest is 1.1.4.18. Problem continues to show. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Jaime |

| Update on the echo problems reported here. The echo problem continues. I opened a ticket with Grandstream support. They tested their phones with our Trixbox system and get the same problem. However because they do not get this echo when using their system, they are blaming the problem on my server or my network. When testing our phones with the Grandstream server (as suggested by them) we get the same problem. No other phone in our system exhibits this problem. Since the problem appears to be related to our particular unit, I am asking for a replacement phone to Grandstream. They have gone mute for the past two weeks without responding. Jaime |
