GrandStream released a new beta, 1.0.1.12, for the GXP-2000 yesterday. Seems to solve the echo problems with speakerphone. Only config tricks are (1) reset phone to factory defaults before installing new version ... after printing out your config screens, and (2) for Asterisk at least, outbound proxy is just the IP of your Asterisk server without a port number now and new NAT traversal setting for each line should be "No, but send keep-alive" if your phone is on same subnet as your Asterisk box. Works great. Download software from http://www.grandstream.com/BETATEST/GXP2000/ and put the files on a TFTP server, point your GXP-2000 to the IP of your TFTP server in the Advanced menu, and reset your phone to start the download. Then reconfigure your phone.

Looks like a release the other location of the file is http://www.grandstream.com/DOWNLOAD/...e_1.0.1.12.zip I've tried it out and it seems the speaker phone is finally working as one would expect it to. Among other things you can finally trigger DND even when disable updates from keypad is selected. Also they changed the ring volume up to be in the menu instead of just using the arrow up/down when the phone is on hook.

Bugs: The echo seems to have been moved from the speaker phone to the handset. Rebooting the phone resets the volumes for handset, speakerphone and ringer bit anoying. Phone will still lose registration but not as frequent. Navigating the calls recieved and placed is still not very good and can only been done while off hook. The mute button works but will reset to talk after a period of time, not good. There may be more but these are the ones that stick out. This phone is a good phone but not great. The software still leaves a lot to be desired and is no where near enterprise yet. Just FYI for those considering to know what to expect.
