| Hello all Complete newbie to the VoIP scene here so forgive my ignorance. I have a sipgate account that worked well with my old HT486 until it died so I have purchased a HT503 as a replacement but for the life of me I cannot get it to work so I was wondering if there was any fellow sipgaters out there that could perhaps give me the skinny on what info I need to enter and where it gets entered as I aint got a clue. Again sorry for my ignorance on this but believe me I am trying but perhaps it is true that you cant teach an old dog new tricks. Any help on this would be much appreciated. |

| Well, to comfort you, i had some time a sip registration of Sipgate too on my Grandstream 2000, at a certain time it just did not work anymore, and i had not changed anything myself... Did some reading.... even your own ADSL provider can "sabotage" your VoIP traffic, changing from DHCP to static might also help, so most of the time, it comes down to NAT or port forwarding.. I going now for the all in one solution...Fritz!Box...hope to gain some expierence that way... good luck !

| Thanks for all of you who at least took the time to look, but my dilemma is over I finally managed to work out most of the config my self but I was still getting the phone ringing once every hour for no reason but a quick mail to the nice people at Grandstream soon sorted that out so my ATA now works perfectly. |
