| Hi I'm new to this forum & VOIP and have just installed an HT486 (rev 2) HT487? which works fine except it does not pass caller ID from the pstn line. I have seem a suggestion somewhere that this is a bug and a firmware update is needed (running 1.0.6.7), can anyone confirm this or suggest a solution? I'm located in the UK and have set FXS impedance to 370 Ohm + 620 Ohm, 310nF which Grandstream specifies for New Zealand ! Caller ID Scheme is set as ETSI-FSK Any help or comments greatly appreciated as otherwise the system is working very well. Chris |

| Hiya, I have the Grandstream ATA486 v1. Unfortunately my model does not have PSTN passthru exept when it's switched off, so I can't compare... My VOIP caller ID works fine, but I use FXS impedance of CTR21 and caller ID of 'Bellcore'. The CTR21 was specified by SIPGATE (which I use) on their config page (and may be UK specific). I am not sure whether you are aware but there are several types of 'Caller ID' specifications used in the UK, the cable companies use a different spec from BT. If you only have BT phones, chances are they will work only with their spec. If you have another make of phone then Bellcore or one of the others may work OK... It took quite a bit of messing with the settings, but my ATA works pretty well now... I hope this helps. Patrick Worcs, UK |

| Thanks for your reply Patrick, I get caller ID if someone rings my VOIP mumber and I now believe that this is a firmware issue, see also http://www.voip.org.uk/forums/index....m=2&topic=1812 Regards, Chris |

| Oh dear, I live in the UK. I had my HT486 working fine except for the Caller ID. I read this thread and changed a few settings but I still couldn't get caller ID to work, I have also introduced another problem. When I make a call the person on the other end can hear me fine, but I get terrible sound quality back. I have even reset factory defaults but the problem persists. I tried connecting another ( very old ) phone but that doesn't even get a dialtone. Info Phone ntl DECT VS2000 Firmware 1.0.6.7 FXS Impedance: " CTR21 (270 Ohm + 750 Ohm||150nF)" Caller ID Scheme: " Bellcore" Bellcore (North America) Onhook Voltage: " 36V" |
