Default HT-488 Radio Interference

Hi, I got my HT-488 from Voxilla store a month ago. The unit seems to work fine but the only annoyance is that if I connect the FXO port to my home line or even just inserting the wire without pluging-in to the telco line and then trying to off-hook the telephone attached to FXS it gives a
background noise/sound that of a local radio station. Its very annoying
talking to someone with radio sound on the background. This only happens if I attached something in the FXO port. Is there any configuration or patches to be applied on the unit. As of now I can't use the FXO line because of the annoying radio sound. I hope anybody could help me on this.

Thanks

It may help to put a toroid suppresser on the telephone wire. If you live in the US or Canada you can probably find this piece at Radio Shack.
