Hi, I have problem because I bought GXW-4004 and I can't receive PSTN calls. I was studying user guide before purchase and I was assuming that life line feature will make the unit to receive PSTN calls to port #1 even if the profile is registered. Now I know I was wrong. I'm trying to find a solution (returning it is not an option). I've found information how to configure HT488 to forward incoming PSTN calls over internet to another HT488 unit using "Off-Hook Auto Dial" feature http://www.grandstream.com/WEBBACKUP.../FAQ/488-b.htm. The same option exists in GXW-4004 and I wonder if I can connect PSTN line to port2 and forward it to port1? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Artur

I'm not sure if this can be done, try using IP forward to second port. I do not know if this work :> For this: set up one prifile to WAN IP of 4004 (same as http://www.grandstream.com/user_manu...GXW_Series.pdf ) Set Line 2 to this Profile Set off-hook as anythink :>

On the fxo gateway such as spa3100 or shang332, there are some setting for auto dial from pstn to sip. but the gxw 4004 is a fxs gateway, normally, fxs gateway don't have it. gxw4104 is fxo gateway. if you want to receive pstn call, you have to use fxo type. http://www.telecomchinasourcing.com/knowledge

Thanks for your reply, In the mean time I contacted Grandstream support and they confirmed that I can't receive PSTN calls using this unit but I will try to use ht-488/ht-503 instead of very expensive gwx-4104. Artur
