Talking Telco peering "interconnecting"

Hi

I will like to find out if some one have arranged peering or interconnecting with Telcos and mobile operators using Asterisk soft/hardware gateways.

Any tips on best hardware direction or if at all possible to be done using Asterisks en E1 Prim or IP SIP trunking.

Will your CID be your actual number that the peering operators "PSTN GSM" will have to route for your outbound and you for them inbound calls?

This only possible if you have a number block issued to you the ISP from the comms regulator in your area of country?

Will this kind of business be possible using something as freely and powerful as Asterisks?

Best Regards

Yes, it's possible to use Asterisk as part of your infrastructure.

But I'd get the regulatory components completed first, before I worried about the hardware.
