Default recording phone conversations

Is there a way to record phone conversations traversing the lan? It would be extremely nice for me to have as I could record the meetings I frequently have to drift in and out of and play back the things that I missed during one of my absences. If it matters I have a SPA2000.

Excuse my ignorance but is phone traffic encrypted by default using public key cyptography? If not, recording phone conversations seems like it would be trivial to implement. Im very new to this all.

with simply spa2000, well, not very likely.

if you were to set up something like asterisk, then yes, it becomes very easy to record conversations.
(of course, the very act of setting up and running asterisk cannot exactly be described as "easy" for most people...)

You could also use something like this (for RTP):

Most VoIP calls aren't encrypted. Skype or PGPFone calls are notable exceptions to this rule. That's why the Sipura offering the ability to do encrypted calls in their SPAs is a bigger deal than it would be if everyone else already did it.
