| I have a SPA3000 (same as 3102 without the router) ... essentially a VoIP gateway connected directly to my router. I had researched the topic of being able to record phone calls with this type of setup with no luck. But, alas, I have figured out a way to record all calls going in or out of my SPA ... without anything other than another computer on the same network/router be it wired or wireless. I have a wirelessly connected laptop on this network and I do the following to record calls on my SPA (which is wired to the same router). And if this is known, I have not seen it posted, so if I look like a newbie posting known info I apologize but am merely trying to share new exciting info and hope someone can benefit. This is an abbreviated tutorial, as most missing steps can be figured out easily... See below: 1. Download ´Cain and Abel´ to the pc you wish to do the recording with. This program has many features but I am only discussing the ones related to this topic. 2. Once installed, go to CONFIGURE - select the adapter you are using on this computer to connect to internet... be it wireless or wired. 3. Once selected, check the box for ´Dont use promiscuous mode´and select OK. 4. Select the graphic icon of the network card to START the SNIFFER module. 4. Go to the tab of SNIFFER and right click in the blank list and select SCAN MAC ADDRESSES ... select ALL TESTS and select OK. 5. It should at least find your ROUTER and your VoIP/SPA unit. If not, go through the help file to fix this. Assuming at least these two devices show up.... 6. Select the ARP sub tab at bottom of window. Then click within the blank top section of this pane. 7. Now select the blue + button and select either your router or spa ip address on the left (doesnt matter which). 8. Now select the other ip address on the right so that either the router or VoIP/spa is selected on the left and the other is selected on the right. Click OK. 9. Now click the yellow radioactive (APR) icon next to the sniffer icon to cut on the APR. Within a few seconds you should see the bottom field of ARP list a half then full routing indicator. This is good. Your pc is now set up as an invisible middle man between your router and SPA unit. 10. When an incoming or outgoing VoIP call is initiated, the program, as long as it is running and the sniffer and APR modules are running, will automatically intercept the SIP traffic and record it to a wav file once calls are completed. To see it happening click the VoIP sub tab at the bottom. The files are stored in a VoIP folder within the CAIN program group folder. ...Be mindful that all sip traffic selected by you will be travelling through your pc that is running cain. Works great, figured it out this evening. Hope to see feedback and updates. Cheers from Iceland! ryan |
