Default Providers that offer CANADA numbers as the primary number

I live in Canada, and I'm having a difficult time trying to find a good VoIP provider that offers CANADA numbers as the primary number.

For example, I want a 604 (vancouver) area code.

The only "gotcha" is that I want to use the SPA-3000 device with the provider, so they must allow "bring your own device" for the ATA.

Can anyone make a recommendation?

I am also signed up with them, but I've had a lot of problems.

Is there any way that you can "export" your SPA-3000 settings (without your SIP username/password of course)? I've really had trouble getting it to work properly with their service...

If you can't find a BYOD device provider you like, couldn't you just hook up whatever adapter a provider gives to the "Line" port of the SPA-3000? Wouldn't that let you use the provider with the SPA-3000, even if/when it's not a BYOD provider?

I've got several provider's "locked ATAs" plugged into SPA-3000s so I can use them with my Asterisk server.

I think you have a few options for Vancouver DID without the need for a locked ATA. You could get a Vonage Vancouver DID with softphone option will give you the ability to use any SIP device you want.

Here are a few other providers. I'm sure there are more.

Visit www.broadVoice.com who use Sipura and allow BYOD. Service is good, if not fantastic. For USD19.95, you can almost call all over the world + USD5.00 will get you a Vancouver number!

Thats USD19.95+USD5=USD24.95=CAD31.20... can't beat it!

Did you guys heard of www.voxbone.com ?

They only sell DID numbers around the world. It is only inbound provider. They charge $8 for Vancouver area code. (Plus one time setap fee of $9). For your outbound, I can suggest you Vbuzzer. Canada unlimited is $5.49, and USA and Canada unlimeted is $7.99.

If you do both, it will cost you 7.99+8 = 15.99. That is CA $19 for unlimited USA and Canada.

Unlimeted Canada will be $16.

What do you think?
