| Hi All, I have been trying to find a free softphone to work under PocketPC 2002 (Windows CE v3.0) on a Toshiba e740 pda with wifi.. The only 2 I have found so far which function with pocket PC 2002 are:- * Xlite 1.01 (g711a, g711u, GSM) * SJPhone (g711a, g711u, GSM) The problem I have is very low bandwidth! I travel interstate and was hoping to use this softphone on wireless hotspots which are often restricted to 56k (or via dialup modem). I have also been testing on my home connection which is shaped to 56k (the sipura 2000 works fine with the g723a codec) I have tested the phones, and while they do function, they break up due to the only codecs available being g711a, g711u, and GSM on both softphones!! Xlite 1.01 has a greyed out g723a option which I have found to be non functional on other forums!) * X-Pro looks to support g729a but doesn't run under PPC2002 and is not free! ( I see there are cabs at HTTP://xten.com/apps/ which can be downloaded but I'm not sure what they are 'cause I can't test them on my PDA!) * TabletMedia iFon looks to support g729a and PocketPC 2002, but it is not free & I can't test it without purchasing and am unsure of the features! Does anyone know of a free or cheap (which I can test 1st!) softphone which will function under PocketPC 2002 and has the 723 or 729 (low bandwidth) codecs avaialable?? Thanks, Mark Evans.... |
