| Hello, I have just bought Linksys PAP2-NA from ebay and set it up for Sipdiscount and Tpad. The adaptor so far is working fine and I am able to make and receive calls on both lines. The only thing I am starting to worry about is the temperature. If I touch it, its very hot. Is it normal for PAP2-NA to be hot or mine has some problem? Thanks. Abdul |

| Mine runs a little hot, too. I believe that is typical. I've had mine for almost a year with no hardware failure issues. To help reduce temperature, I do not stack it on top of any other device, or any devices on top of it, to allow for better ventillation. Sometimes I stand it on its side for better ventillation.

| Yes, it looks like it was designed to be left standing/mounted vertically. The vents are all on the side, and remember that hot air rises up in the absence of a fan or blower. Standing it up vertically (i.e. the two square sides should be vertical with the Linksys logo on the square face appearing horizontal) definitely makes it run much cooler compared to laying it flat with all four rubber feet down. Makes a huge difference, especially in the tropics. |

| Some PAP2 units from Hong Kong may be fake and have been reported to run hotter that normal. See this post (Linksys Pap2 OverHeating fix). |
