Hello -- Your phone number is a Washington State phone number right? Well Washington State has a series of different area codes; 206, 253, 360, 425, 509, and 564.

Lets just say your IPKall area phone number is in the 206 area code, then anyone in this area code can call you for free through their local telephone service, but all other area codes would be subject to long distance fees (to put it plainly).

In other words, you've obtained a virtual phone number that other people on the Public Network can call. If they have to dial long distance to get to that area code, then they pay for the call.

To make it simple. Who ever will call you, will pay the same as if he calls normal phone in the area code, where your virtual number is.

Within the same area code, it may be and probably will be a long distance call as well, since some of the rate-centers are pretty distant from each other even though they use the same area code. The point of IPKall is (for the vast majority of us) to provide us with a domestic US phone number, and have our friends and family call us at reduced rates compared to calling our true international phone number.
