Default Grandstream HandyTone 503 Caller ID not working

Has someone bought Grandstream Handytone 503 in Italy? How is it working? After fixing one, my caller Id is not working on the PTSN (House Phone) line. I mean when someone call I don't see his number. I called Grandstream and they said I should set the caller ID scheme to the one that fits Italy. Nevertheless I have no idea about this. Please give me guide.

I had similar problems, but after some experimentation, I finally managed to put the Called ID feature to work with the PSTN line. I had not only to change the Caller ID scheme (on both FXS and FXO) but also the Caller ID Transport Type. I changed it from "Relay via SIP From" to "Relay via SIP P-Asserted-Identify". Try it to see if it works for you.

Hi Jalox, thanks for your support. I have opened the configuration page but I don't see any Caller ID Transport Type or where to find the "Relay via SIP from". I don't see all these figures on the configuration page. Can you describe it a little bit? Is this settings in Basic, Advance or FXS PORT & FXO PORT?
Give me a short tutorial. Thanks

I can find Caller ID Transport Type settings in FXO PORT configuration window. If you have the 1.0.0.15 firmware, change these settings to "Relay via SIP P-Asserted From". Anyway, somewhat strange is that I have just upgraded to 1.0.0.17 firmware trying to solve another problem and noticed that PSTN Caller ID is now working even when Transport Type is configured to the default "Relay via SIP from".

You are great Jalox, I think you are the guy who can help me solve this problem. Through your first guide, I came to know that my current firmware is 1.0.0.5 that is why I can't find those settings on the device configuration page. Now help me to upgrade the software to the current version 1.0.0.17 and I think this will solve the problem. First let me know where to get this firmware. You can link me to the place, then how to install the firmware through the HTTP. I dont have TFTP on my computer.
Thanks.
