I think you don't need the [3469]11|
that's to dial 311, 411, 611, 911 in USA... I don't think you need to dial these numbers in mexico.

the plan however seem to bestill faulty...

r u sure its ok?

Default RE: Re: DIAL PLAN FOR MEXICO / PLAN DE MARCACION PARA MEXICO

I made this dial plan for S2K3 for Mexico City: local numbers (8 digits), cell phone (044+10digits), national long distance (01+10digits) and special numbers such 060, 020, 040, etc.. (our emergency and information numbers) are routed thourgh PSTN; international numbers through Line1 (00), I added a special code for US and Canada to make a quick connection. If you find any error, I will appreciate your feedback.

(<001:1>[2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxxS0|<00:011>[2-9]xxxxx.| [2-9]xxxxxxxS0<:@gw0>|[0]44xxxxxxxxxxS0<:@gw0>|[0]2-9xS0<:@gw0>)

There is one error in the last element. It should be 0[2-9]0S0<:@gw0> instead. This will allow 0x0 to go to the PSTN.

Default This is the one I'm using

(18[00-99]xxxxxx.|[1-9]xx.<:@gw0>|01800xx.<:@gw0>|01900!|<044:01152>xx.| <01:01152>xx.|<001:1>xx.|<00:011>xx.|0[2356789]xS0<:@gw0>)

Breaks down as follows:

18[00-99]xxxxxx. --> US 800 numbers are dialed thru IP (Broadvoice)
[1-9]xx.<:@gw0> --> local numbers are dialed thru PSTN (Telmex)
01800xx.<:@gw0> --> Mexican 800 numbers are dialed thru PSTN (Telmex)
01900! --> Mexican 900 numbers are being rejected
<044:01152>xx. --> local cell phones are going thru IP (Broadvoice... believe me it's cheaper for caller)
<01:01152>xx. --> national (Mex) long distance are dialed thru IP (Broadvoice... believe me it's cheaper for caller)
<001:1>xx. --> calls to US are dialed thru IP (Broadvoice)
<00:011>xx. --> rest of the world is dialed thru IP (Broadvoice)
0[2356789]xS0 --> 020,030,031,050,...,090 --> are dialed immediately thru PSTN (Telmex).

---
Edited for simplification.
---
Second Edit, corrected local cellphones issue.
---
Third Edit, corrected local phones starting with "18xxxxx" going thru IP. Everything works.
---

Thanks,

Default RE: This is the one I

I would make two corrections and a couple of improvements.

The first correction has to do with your US 800 element. The way it is now it has two problems. One problem is an abiguity with local Telmex numbers. Is there such a local phone number as 18345678 in your town? Do any local numbers begin with 1? The other problem is that only one digit place goes inside the square brackets. Unfortunately, [00-99] does not represent the two digits from 00 through 99. It represents the single digit 0, 0-9 or 9. This is a bit redundant, but harmless. Assuming that no ordinary telephone numbers begin with 1, I recommend that you change 18[00-99]xxxxxx. to 1[2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxxS0 and that you change [1-9]xx.<:@gw0> to [2-9]xxxxxxxS0<:@gw0> , where you have the appropriate digit count.

The second correction is to change <00:011>xx. to <00:011>[2-9]xx. for international calls. If you don't specify that this is for Country Codes other than 1 you will have an ambiguity that could cause a Country Code 1 number to be called by 011- instead of 1-.

The improvements are to change as many of the xx. entries to xxxxxxxS0 style, so that calls are submitted for dialing faster. For example, I recommend changing <001:1>xx. to <00:>1[2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxxS0 for calls to Country Code 1. Mexican Domestic numbers, all being the same length are another candidate for this treatment.

Default --Changes--

Hi
Actually we do have here 183 00 00 local numbers, there is company called "Axtel" which has that DID range.

I followed you recommendations and change it to:

(18[0-9][0-9]xxxxxxxS0|[1-9]xxxxxx.<:@gw0>|01800xxxxxxxS0<:@gw0>|01900!|<044:0 1152>xxxxxxxxxxS0| <01:01152>xxxxxxxxxxS0|<00:>1[2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxxS0|<00:011>[2-9]xx.|0[2356789]xS0<:@gw0>)

I'm not able to change |[1-9]xxxxxx. to |[1-9]xxxxxxS0 because when I try to dial an US 800 number it's immediately routed (7 digits) thru PSTN
My question is:
- If <00:>1[2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxxS0, is it going to conflict with <00:011>[2-9]xx. ???? Because of the "00" being replaced with ""
I was able to try everything, except for world calls, and it's working fine.
Thanks,

Default Question

Ok. I tried "world calls" dialing back to my cell phone --> 0052 xxx xxx xxxx and it worked... so dial plan in previous post is the one is working the best for me (@ Mexico)

Would you please explain me why <00:> replacement doesn't affect <00:011>??

The only thing missing now is *xx and #xx services... I would like to put it in a simple way to have it working for Telmex and Broadvoice. It's a nice to have, don't really need it, just to have a most robust solution.

Regards,

Default RE: Question

As you discovered, the first element looks for 001- and routes it via the NANP dial plan to Country Code 1. The other element sends the other Country Codes, which begin with 2 through 9, and sends them out in the 011-CC-xxxx form.

Star codes are trickier to handle because you have three, not two, competitors for their service. In addition to BV and Telmex, your SPA also interprets some star codes. You can approach this problem wither with uniqueness or with prefixes. It's really a toss-up which way to go.

Cheers,

Michael
