Default Cordless phone with a universal charger?

Anyone know of a cordless phone with a universal charger (110-220v)?
I've checked the phones here in the US, unfortunately all of them were 110v charger. What phone do you pack for travelling to 220v countries?

Since cordless phones must be type accepted, and sometimes licensed, for use in a particular country (hence the FCCID, etc., on the label), it does not make economic sense to provide a universal adapter for such a product.

On the other hand, you can look at the power supply that came with the phone and then check out your local electronics shop or computer shop for a universal power supply that is made for a laptop or other device that is permitted to travel. Choose a power supply of the same voltage and at least the same amperage as the one that came with the phone. Then, either choose a power supply with the same plug as you need, or go to Radio Shack, buy the right plug from them, and solder it on.

Of course, if you go through all of this trouble you may find that the cost of finding and possibly modifying a universal power supply is more than the cost of a small travel converter.

Need to be careful with this due to the different frequency allocations in different countries. When I was in Singapore back in 2000, it was pretty easy to get 900Mhz cordless phones there, but they were for EXPORT ONLY since 900Mhz is used for cellular phone service in Singapore.

I did some certification testing when I was living in Singapore about 10 years ago. It wasn't the 900MHz GSM that the US' 900MHz ISM interferes with. Rather, it is that Singapore's military lays claim to about half of that band.

We bumped into a similar constraint with 2.4GHz ISM. Singapore has traffic gantries across many roadways, which poll a transponder in the car and deduct a road toll from a smart card on the spot. Well, these gantries use two frequencies that are part of all WiFi and cordless phone spectra. So, even though it is illegal to use WiFi cards and cordless phones in public (By law you must contain the base station's footprint to your owned or rented property.), it is illegal to use these frequencies even in private.
