Default click to talk

I am looking for a software solution (H323) that would offer live help to customer with voice. maybe something similar to netmeeting but better with VOIP. When customer click on a button on the web site, the system will connect to a gateway and they will be able to speak with an operator. System will have to be able to go through a firewall. We already have VOIP gateways. If needed we could swith to SIP.

Free World Dialup has an ActiveX control that will allow you to call a Free World Dialup number. Something like that might work.

H.323 is a lot harder to go through a firewall. SIP is a little easier, IAX (the protocol Asterisk uses) would be ideal since it only uses one UDP port.

Thank you. I contacted the company. Any other idea who may have that? My idea is to have something like http://www.mediaring.com/ http://www.mediaring.com/about_us/contact_us/

Protocal is not a problem. Gateways are available in SIP or H323.

Thank you

The biggest problem you will encounter, assuming you can clobber the NAT and firewall issues, is the wide variation in audio systems across your audience. It won't be easy at all to train your callers to tune their audio systems to your web client prior to calling you.

The FWD ActiveX applet suffers from this problem on top of its limitation to Internet Explorer clients with weakened protection against rogue ActiveX programs.

There are commercial applications available, like GlassHelp (at http://www.chatessentials.com/main/G...bilities.shtml), but something tells me this would break the budget.

Not wanting to self promote etc but.....

As of Tuesday your problem is solved.
Mexuar Products

Works on any java 1.4 and above compliant browser, no configuration etc required by caller.

Initiates an IAX call from their browser to your asterisk server, just click to talk in 10 seconds or less.

Feel free to try it out by calling me Mexuar

Cheers,
Dean
