Default Can't get Number Ported-no rate center-PLEASE HELP!!

I live in Michigan and my number is 248-887-xxxx. Verizon is the local carrier and Comcast my ISP. Comcast will give me VOIP service and LNP but lots of $$$$. No one else will for any price including Verizon! (go figure). They say they don't have a rate center with my exchange (it's called Milford/WhiteLake) I really want to keep my existing number.Please HELP!

This link shows all of the phone companies operating in your Rate Center. In theory, any of these companies should be able to port your number from Verizon. Your challenge is to find a VoIP service provider that gets its DIDs in your area from one of these companies and also supports LNP.

If you can't find a VoIP service provider who gets DIDs from XO or Focal (the two most likely sources on the list), you might want to move your Verizon number to a Metro PCS or Verizon Wireless cell phone.
