My desire for simplicity is that the appartment is unattended most of the time (for months at a time) and I want to avoid having to go there to reset boxes after powercuts, which are quite regular. So everything has to reset itself. My experience in this area is that while it all works in theory, something always goes wrong. I have a Zyxel 2602HWL there, but have never got the outgoing FXO to take outgoing calls transferred from voip, since in theory this box should do exactly what I ask - though does not meet the "simple" requirement; there is a firmware update dated July (I think), so maybe it will now work, but I am finding that hard to believe (which I grant is not a technical reason! just experience).
Since writing my question and surfing more in this forum I was wondering whether an FX300 might do the trick?
That is if I can find somewhere to buy one.
