RE: How I build my Own VOIP For Personal Use? You can do what you want with an Asterisk PBX system. You have to interface the pstn line(s) to the Asterisk computer and a broadband internet connection to the computer. You get an ip address from one of the free services, and you setup each SPA1001 as an "extension" on the Asterisk system. You need to buy a separate computer for the asterisk system. You can use the free, downloadable, Trixbox package for the software (formerly called Asterisk@Home).
The pstn lines can be interfaced the the computer with a hardware attachment card or it is possible to use an ATA like the SPA3000 which has a capability to interface to a pstn line.
It will take some study to set this up as it is not trivial. Start by reading the NerdVittles web pages and the Dumb-Me guide for Trixbox. |
