Default $0 Monthly Fee Providers?

Hi All,

I'm looking into the USA's VOIP offerings and I can't seem to find any provider which will offer me a $0.00 per month pay as you call package for calling (Not prepaid). Do any of the larger providers offer this kind of thing in the states?

Basically what we're looking for is pay nothing to signup, then only pay for your phone calls on a post-pay basis.

Thank you

Chris.
(Yes, I'm affiliated with an Australian provider).

Stanaphone.com offers a plan where you pay nothing to sign-up, but you do have to prepay (in $5 increments), for making outgoing calls to PSTN phones.
I'm unaware of a plan that lets you pay nothing to sign-up and also doesn't want any money up front either (credit card charge), if you plan to make PSTN calls.

You might also look at GalaxyVoice, specifically their "free" plab. They charge you a one-time $24.95 setup fee. The upshot is that you get 60 minutes of outgoing calls to the US per month for free.

Basically, all service providers are pre-pay to some degree.

I think most of the $0/month "Pay as you go" providers are "prepay only" (you have to deposit the money before you use the service).

BTW: I use Teliax.com as my "backup provider" (the one I use when my monthly plan is down for some reason). Teliax has decent quality, supports both IAX and SIP (I'm using SIP with my SPA-3000), a good web site, and their "pay as you go" plan has no monthly fee (unless you want an optional inbound number), and is only $0.02/min for outbound USA calls.

However, Teliax is "pre-pay" only (i.e. you have to deposit the money first, before you can make the calls).

[EDIT] The Teliax.com web portal does have an "auto-recharge" option, whereby you give them a credit card, and tell them when you want to automatically get charged for more time. For example, you could tell Teliax.com to automatically charge your CC for an extra $10, whenever your Teliax.com account balance goes below $10. By doing things this way, you would never have to pre-pay more than $10 in advance, but you would also always keep your pre-pay account "in the black", without having to worry about your balance.

Well the only one that won't ask you for anything upfront and let you use their service is VoiJet http://www.voipjet.com/

You can get a free test account which inludes $.25 (roughly 13 outgoing US minutes)

No one is going to let you pay later for your minutes. How do they know you are going to pay them back if you use $7,000 worth of minutes and your credit card doesn't go thru?

Voxee.com is another great service with dirt cheap calls almost anywhere. Penny a minute in U.S. Couple of pennies to Europe and Far East. Very good quality.
