Default Help build VOXILLA.COM

Hi and welcome,

We have come a long way since launching VOXILLA.COM on August 15th. We've added a lot of features, we've moved the site over to a more capable server, quite a few members have joined up, our news stories are now being picked up by a number of other sites, and, every day, more people are stopping by.

But there's still a lot to do, and YOU can help.

Most importantly: Participate!! Ask questions in the forums. Post your gripes and your successes. If you know the answer to questions others have, please jump in.

If you're interested in contributing to Voxilla in ways other than the forum, there are plenty of ways to do that too.

If you want to write, we welcome reviews and news stories submitted by members of the Voxilla community. There's an interface here that makes story and review submissions as easy as can be. But if you have ideas for a story or review that you want to discuss first, just drop me an email or PM.

Programmers: PLEASE HELP. We have several projects for folks with knowledge of Perl, PHP and mySQL to offer very useful new features to Voxilla. If you can help out on the technical end, we can't promise you vast riches, but you will certainly be given full credit for your work and will receive the satisfaction derived from putting something together that doesn't exist anywhere else. If you want to help, please email or PM me.

Thanks for coming by, and I look forward to speaking with all of you.

Default RE: Help build VOXILLA.COM

The VOIP service comparision tool is a good start. Some suggestions to improve it would be to:

1) allow searching across features (which providers support BYOB, etc.)
2) work with providers to index who provide local number portability and local prefixes for a given area
3) use a frame or something so that the row and column headers carry across as you scroll over and down

Keep up the great work. VoIP is changing the world. Interesting VOIP feature called Echolink has allowed ham radio operators to link radios to the internet using VOIP, during Hurricane Katrina. Check it out at www.echolink.org
