First of all, I want to say that I really like this site a lot. It has great information and it looks good too.

But I've never seen a forum like this and, I have to say, I really don't care for it much. Its hard to naviagte, there are too many icons and extra text cluttering up the page and its very different from other boards I use, so a little hard to get adjusted to.

I would recommend different forum software.

I'm pleased you like voxilla.com.

The site is put together using a content management system called PostNuke, which is freely available to anyone under the GNU agreement. PostNuke uses modules (both basic ones that come with the distribution and many that are developed by members of the growing PostNuke developers community), to provide the system and any web site it helps build with the basic functionalities.

The best PostNuke module for a forum is PNphpBB2 (yes, the name is that cryptic), which is what we are using here on Voxilla. It is not necessary for us to use this forum software, and I know there is some software out there (particularly vBulletin) that is more common and, perhaps, a tad bit easier to use.

In designing this site, we originally chose to use vBulletin as the forum software, and purchased a license for it. About a month ago, we decided to use PNphpBB2 instead for a number of reasons:

1. We all preferred the idea of using, and helping promote, GNU software that is open source and constantly being improved;

2. Because it works as a PostNuke module, it is very easy to integrate the forum -- both graphically and structurally -- with the rest of the site;

3. In time, we would like to combine the comments section that follows every one of Voxilla's stories with this forum, so that Voxilla community members can communicate with one another using a single, unified venue. This will be more easily accomplished using a PostNuke module.

This is not to say that the forum can't be improved. Because the code is open source, we are able to tweak much of its appearance and functionality, given, of course, knowledge and time.

We are certainly open to specific ideas about how to improve this forum. Please pass them along.

I had just typed a message in the quick reply area that said I agree with everything you said and that I can get used to this system. Then I clicked the post reply button on the bottom of the page, and I got a whole new way of enetering my message. But the message I wrote was gone. I just figured out I have to click submit right below, but that button is not as prominent as the postreply button.

I just hope you don't lose people because the board is too confusing.

I don't post in too many places yet. I haven't seen this post nuke before but seems reasonable to navigate around and get things done that I want.

This interview with CEO is really something. Hope you get others to join in for more in the future.

How about "interview" with the head techno guru at each place too?
