SPA3102=>PSTN to Voip, pstn doesn't answer
Hi
I'm new to this voip.
I'm living in Canada and my setup is as follow:
SPA3102 "Line" connected to my Bell service.
SPA3102 "Phone" connected to 3 internal home phones devided to my house.
Voip account set on Line1 tab
On the web interface:
Line1 tab=>
I setup my voip account with an external number (from Europe)
I create a dial plan here as follow:
(416x.S0<:@gw0>|905x.S0<:@gw0>|647x.S0<:@gw0>|4x.)
local calls @gw0 (to use the Bell service)
international calls 4x. to use the voip account.
I can make local calls and international calls 4xxxxx without any trouble.
PSTN tab=> Settings:
Nothing setup for accounts
PSTN to Voip enabled
PSTN Caller Auth Method: PIN
PSTN caller pin xxxxxxx
PSTN caller DP 1
DP1 => (4xx.)
Everything else unchanged. User1 / PSTN user tab are blank
Additional I do not have a caller ID from Bell.
Purpose:
To call my device home using the bell line (PSTN), type the access pin, and have tone from voip account to make international call.
Problem:
The device did not answer the call with any settings on the PSTN Answer Delay from 0 to 16.
I'm sure I'm missing something but I cannot figured out..

Re: SPA3102=>PSTN to Voip, pstn doesn't answer
The PSTN Answer Delay pertains to the delay before the pstn-to-voip gateway will answer the call. It is used when you wish the incoming call to "ring thru Line 1" or ring the phone attached to the SPA3102 before you return dial tone for an outgoing voip call.
The outgoing voip will be thru the account settings you have on the PSTN Line Tab, or if you have the dial plan setup properly you can also dial using one of the "gateway" configurations you have setup on Line 1. If you intend to use the account setup on Line 1 for outgoing calls you need to also set it up on the PSTN Line tab and then make settings to Register No, Make Call Without Reg Yes on the pstn line tab.
On your Line 1 dial plan the entries you have with the S0 are going to cause you trouble because the S0 means dial immediately, there are no more digits to follow. It will then dial after you enter 5 digits (416xx) I would remove the S0.

Hi hwittenb,
Thanks for your replay/help.
Yes, I planed to use the Line1 account. I will setup the same account on the PSTN tab.
I will remove the S0 from the dial plan, or change it to 416xxxxxxxS0<>. (I will play with the unit for better understanding.. )
Regards,
Cris

Also,
If I remember correctly, for either way gateway to work, you have configure a VoIP a/c on the PSTN tab, even dummy settings are OK, just set Register = No.

No - the pstn tab voip account can not ring the Line 1 phone - NOT possible.
