Default SPA-3000 Initial Setup Help

I have been using a Leadtek 8051 for my Gizmo (originally SipPhone) account. Unfortunately the unit has given out and I cannot locate another. I do have a Sipura/Linksys SPA3000 that I can use in its place but I don’t have all the necessary skills and understanding to program it, so I am asking for some assistance, please.
The Leadtek was simple for me, but when I look at the settings for the SPA3000 it is much more robust and confusing. All that I want to do is connect the local phone line to the SPA3000 so that when I lift the receiver the default dial tone is local. The Leadtek, by default, was setup that way and when I wanted to place a VOIP call I would press the # key and the Leadtek would switch to the VOIP line. Incoming calls could be either local or VOIP.
I had the whole house wired to go through the Leadtek and would like to continue that so that all phones have access to both local and VOIP.
In summary, I would like to have the SPA-3000 attached to the local phone line as well as the VOIP line. When a phone rings it could be either a local call or a VOIP call the person in our home that answers would not need to know. When someone places a call the default would be the local line, if you needed to place a VOIP call you would simply press # and the SPA-3000 would switch to you to the VOIP line and release the local line. I would like to disable all other features on the SPA-3000, at least I think I would, unless someone has a better idea.
I have already used the Voxilla configuration wizard to program the SPA-3000. I selected the service provider for Line 1 (SipPhone/Gizmo) and selected “No VoIP Service on PSTN Line” (thinking that I was not interested in the Gateway option). At that point, other than the Time Zone, I was not sure if I needed to answer the remaining questions or leave them blank. I was not sure if, by leaving them blank, I had disabled all the Gateway features or could someone call in and use that feature. So I left them blank and proceeded forward. I allowed the wizard to configure the SPA-3000 and was able to connect to SipPhone/Gizmo but I have not connected the local line to the SPA-3000 because I am not sure how to switch between calls.
Can someone help?
Sorry to be long winded, I hope that I provided the right information.
Thank you in advance.

PS. Does anyone know where I can purchase a Leadtek 8051 (SipPhone Call-in-One)?

Default Re: SPA-3000 Initial Setup Help

With the SPA3000 you can attach all the phone lines in the house to the "Phone" (FXS) jack as long as you don't exceed the ringer capacity of the adapter. You cannot at the same time also attach your PSTN landline to these phones (FXS). You can attach the PSTN landline to the SPA3000 "Line" (FXO) jack and as a result all the phones can then access either voip or pstn phone line.

If you attach the pstn landline to the Phone (FXS) jack you can damage the electronics of the adapter.

You can control the access of voip / pstn landline outgoing call with a dial plan in the SPA3000. A dial plan like this
(<#,:>xx.|xx.<:@gw0>)
will normally place a dialed call on the pstn line, but if you key # first you will receive a new dial tone and the call will go on your voip account.

To use the PSTN (FXO) capabilities of the SPA3000 on the PSTN line tab you do not need to make any voip configuration but you do need the following settings:

Line Enable: Yes
Voip-to-PSTN Gateway Enable: Yes
One Stage Dialing: Yes

PSTN Ring Thru Line 1: Yes
PSTN Answer Delay: 20

With this configuration no one can call in and use your PSTN line.

(on Line 1) Auto PSTN Fallback: Yes/No will place all calls on the PSTN line (if yes) if registration has failed for your voip provider (and you have the provider set to register).

If you have been altering a number of settings sometimes it is good to reset the SPA3000 to factory specifications using the IVR and then reenter your configuration settings.
