Default FXO incoming calls

Hi all,

I would like to ask please about a device that receive calls from a PSTN number (NOT DID Number) on the FXO port and send the call to it's FXS port in order to send the call to an asterisk server

Regards

A Linksys SPA3102, when configured properly, will do what you wish.

you can have your 3102 ring its Line1 (the FXS port) directly, configuring (in tab PSTN line) FXO Ring thru as YES and PSTN To VoIP Gateway as DISABLED.
But if you want to route the incoming call to an Asterisk server, you have to disable ring thru, enable PSTN To VoIP Gateway, have the default Dial Plan of PSTN Line (for instance DP 1) to dial the same extensions your Line1 answers to, so that the PSTN section calls the Line1 section through Asterisk, yet you are able to control the call (i.e call forwarding, conference, and so on).
The Line1 section has to register on * on port 5060 with the credentials you assign, while the PSTN section can avoid registering, but you HAVE to write anyway the credentials on the same registrar, pointing to a different port (5061) and letting "Make call w/o register" as YES.

Easy, isn't it?
