Default VoIP line disconnects after call transfer - possibly a voicemail problem?

Hi,

I am programming a Call Transfer on a Broadvox VoIP line on an Avaya Partner Mail VS, R5 automated attendant. When I programmed the number into the centrex call transfer option it didn't work properly. I added a pause after the number being transferred to, but the call transfer disconnected before anyone could reasonably have answered it. I then programmed a number of pauses and the recipient at the other end now has enough time to answer the phone.

The VoIP line has voice mail on it, and I suspect that the reason the number disconnects so soon has to do with the voicemail feature. Has anyone experienced this problem before, and will removing the voicemail solve the problem I'm experiencing.
